Hybrid system warning
A “Check hybrid system” message or warning light on the dashboard.
Professional module testing, balancing and rebuilt battery packs for Toyota hybrids. We find out what your battery actually needs, then explain your options clearly before any work begins.
These symptoms can point to an imbalanced or worn
battery pack, but they can have other causes too.
That's why we always diagnose first.
A “Check hybrid system” message or warning light on the dashboard.
Codes such as P0A80 (“Replace hybrid battery pack”) or block voltage imbalance codes.
Noticeably higher fuel use with no other obvious explanation.
The battery display jumps quickly between almost full and almost empty.
The petrol engine starts more often and electric-only driving feels shorter.
Less electric assistance when pulling away or accelerating.
WhatsApp your model, year, mileage, postcode and any warning lights or fault codes.
We read fault codes and review battery block voltage data to see what is really going on.
We explain whether balancing, a rebuilt pack or another repair makes sense, with a quote before work starts.
The work is carried out, faults are cleared and the hybrid system is checked before handover.
Battery type, layout and module count vary by model and year. Some newer Toyotas use lithium-ion packs with different requirements. We confirm compatibility for your exact vehicle before booking.
Toyota hybrid batteries operate at high voltage and should never be opened or dismantled without the right equipment and safety procedures. Diagnosis can usually take place at your home or work; removing, balancing or rebuilding a pack needs a safe working area, and some work is better completed at a suitable facility. We explain where and how the work will be done before arranging anything.
Have a fault code or a question about your pack?
Send it over on WhatsApp.
A Toyota hybrid battery is made up of many modules connected in series. Over time some modules lose capacity or drift out of step, and the weakest one limits the whole pack. Balancing tests each module and conditions them back to a closely matched state, replacing any modules that fail testing.
It depends on the condition of your modules. If most test well, balancing and replacing a small number of weak modules can be worthwhile. If wear is widespread, a rebuilt pack is usually more practical. We diagnose the battery first and explain the options and their limitations before you decide.
No repair can reverse the natural ageing of battery modules. Balancing can restore performance when the modules themselves are still in reasonable health, but results depend on the condition of the pack. We explain our findings honestly rather than promising a set lifespan.
We regularly receive enquiries for models such as the Prius, Auris, Yaris, C-HR, Corolla and RAV4 hybrids. Battery type and layout vary by model and year, and some newer models use lithium-ion packs with different requirements, so we confirm compatibility for your exact vehicle before booking.

Cost and timescale depend on your model, the battery’s condition and whether balancing or a rebuilt pack is needed. After reviewing your vehicle details and diagnostic findings, we agree a quote and an estimated timescale before any work starts.
Send your model, year, mileage, postcode and any fault codes. We'll take it from there.
